🔥 Hillbilly Attendance Challenge! 🔥
Right now, 42% of our Man High students are considered chronically absent (missing just 3 or more days so far this school year). That’s too many — and we know our Hillbillies can do better!
So here’s the challenge: we’re going head-to-head with Logan High and Chapmanville High to see which school can have the lowest chronic absence rate by the end of October.

Logan County Schools will be conducting an Active Threat Drill on September 25, 2025.
Man High School will host its first LSIC (Local School Improvement Council) meeting of the year on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the school. All those interested are welcome to attend.

💻 Chromebook Reminder 💻
We’ve noticed more students needing loaner Chromebooks because they left theirs at home. Loaners are meant for emergencies—not everyday use.
Parents and students, please help build these good habits:
Keep the Chromebook in your backpack when not in use.
Charge it every night so it’s ready for school.
Bring it every day, just like any other essential school supply.
Bringing your own device keeps you on track in class and ensures loaners are available for students who really need them. Thanks for helping make this a smooth routine! 💙

Please be advised that Logan County Schools will not be using LiveGrades for the 2025–2026 school year.
To stay informed about your child’s academic progress, we encourage you to register for the WVEIS Parent Portal. This platform will be our primary tool for parent access to student grades and information.
✅ Important Notes:
You must have a valid email address connected to your child’s WVEIS account to register. We must indicate in WVEIS that you wish to have online access for that email address. So, please contact the appropriate staff member below so we can update your information:

📢 Man High School – Virtual Instruction Enrollment Info for 2025–2026
Parents & Students:
If you are interested in enrolling in Virtual Instruction for the upcoming school year at Man High School, please visit the school to complete the updated Virtual Instruction Enrollment Form.
✅ A staff member at Man High School must sign and date the form before it is submitted to the attendance department.
📅 The deadline to enroll is August 20, 2025 – the first day of school. No forms will be accepted after this date.

Reminder for Man High School Students: If you want to take classes through Marshall University, you must apply directly through their website: https://www.marshall.edu/herdacademy.
After you apply, call Mrs. Thomas at the school so she can adjust your schedule!
Attention Upcoming Junior CTE Vocational Students:
If you are interested in taking Contemporary Studies through the Marshall HERD Program, please call Mrs. Campbell at 304-583-8233 today.
This dual credit class will be offered at Man High School, and the only requirement is a 3.0 GPA. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Important Notice for Students Previously on Homebound Instruction
This is a reminder that homebound instruction does NOT carry over into the new school year.
All students who finished the previous year on homebound are required to return to school on the first day—Tuesday, August 20. Any student who does not attend will be marked absent.
The only exception is if a specialist has completed a new homebound application for the 2025–2026 school year and it has already been approved by the Board of Education.
If you have questions about your student’s status or believe they may need homebound services again, please contact the school at the beginning of August.
Any student attending summer school who needs transportation must call the school by tomorrow, Thursday, June 12th, to let us know. This ensures the bus can pick you up at your house.

A Place to Remember Coach Tootie Carter
Some people leave a mark so deep, it becomes part of who we are. Coach Tootie Carter was one of those rare souls — a mentor, a friend, and a true MHS legend. His heart for students, his love for the game, and his unwavering presence made him unforgettable.
Thanks to the hard work of the MHS Student Council, and with the incredible craftsmanship of the students at the Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Center, a memory bench now sits in his honor. It’s more than just a bench — it’s a place to pause, reflect, and remember a man who gave so much to our school and community.
We are so thankful to everyone who helped bring this tribute to life. Coach Carter, your legacy lives on — in every story, every smile, and now, in this special place created with love and respect.

Senior students/parents, if you have paid to attend the trip to Kings Island on Saturday May 10, 2025 please arrive to the school no later than 5:15 AM. Kings Island is cashless and students will need a card to purchase food & drinks. We will update the school fb page when we leave with our expected time of arrival back to the school.
