๐Ÿ”ฅ Hillbilly Attendance Challenge! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Right now, 42% of our Man High students are considered chronically absent (missing just 3 or more days so far this school year). Thatโ€™s too many โ€” and we know our Hillbillies can do better! So hereโ€™s the challenge: weโ€™re going head-to-head with Logan High and Chapmanville High to see which school can have the lowest chronic absence rate by the end of October. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค If Man High wins, weโ€™ll celebrate Hillbilly style with another big pep rally! ๐ŸŽ‰ Letโ€™s show our county rivals that Hillbillies donโ€™t back down and we show up โ€” every day, on time, ready to learn. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Every Day Counts. Every Hillbilly Matters.

๐ŸŽ“ HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE MATTERS โ€“ PLEASE READ ๐Ÿ“š

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Weโ€™re asking for your support in making sure your student is in school every day โ€” unless they are truly sick.

High school is a critical time. Every class missed puts students further behind โ€” not just academically, but also in building the habits and skills they need for graduation, college, jobs, and life beyond.

๐Ÿ”น Every absence adds up. Just a couple of missed days a month can mean falling behind in credits, struggling with grades, and missing key instruction thatโ€™s hard to make up.

๐Ÿ”น Success starts with showing up. Students who attend regularly are more likely to stay on track to graduate and be ready for what comes next โ€” whether thatโ€™s college, a career, or both.

๐Ÿ”น We want them here. When students miss school, they miss connections, support, and the structure they need to succeed.

We understand that emergencies happen and that some absences are unavoidable. But if your student is healthy and able, please help us make school attendance a priority. Their future depends on it โ€” and so does their present.

Thank you for partnering with us. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’ป Chromebook Reminder ๐Ÿ’ป Weโ€™ve noticed more students needing loaner Chromebooks because they left theirs at home. Loaners are meant for emergenciesโ€”not everyday use. Parents and students, please help build these good habits: Keep the Chromebook in your backpack when not in use. Charge it every night so itโ€™s ready for school. Bring it every day, just like any other essential school supply. Bringing your own device keeps you on track in class and ensures loaners are available for students who really need them. Thanks for helping make this a smooth routine! ๐Ÿ’™

A Place to Remember Coach Tootie Carter Some people leave a mark so deep, it becomes part of who we are. Coach Tootie Carter was one of those rare souls โ€” a mentor, a friend, and a true MHS legend. His heart for students, his love for the game, and his unwavering presence made him unforgettable. Thanks to the hard work of the MHS Student Council, and with the incredible craftsmanship of the students at the Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Center, a memory bench now sits in his honor. Itโ€™s more than just a bench โ€” itโ€™s a place to pause, reflect, and remember a man who gave so much to our school and community. We are so thankful to everyone who helped bring this tribute to life. Coach Carter, your legacy lives on โ€” in every story, every smile, and now, in this special place created with love and respect. #ForeverInOurHearts #CoachCarter #MHSFamily #RRWCTCPride
