Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
We want to take a moment to remind everyone how important regular school attendance is for student success — both academically and socially.
West Virginia state law requires us to closely monitor unexcused absences. According to WV Code, if a student accumulates 10 unexcused absences during the school year, the school may be required to file a complaint with the magistrate court. This can lead to serious consequences, so we want to work together to avoid that outcome.
To help us keep accurate records and support your student:
✅ Please send in doctor’s excuses within 3 school days of any absence.
✅ You are allowed up to 10 parent-written notes for the entire school year.
✅ We encourage students to be at school every day unless they are sick or have a valid reason to stay home.
We understand that things happen, and we’re here to help. If you ever have questions or need support with attendance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your student’s learning and well-being! 💙

Man High School is closed for Thursday, October 9, 2025. However, if Ralph R. Willis CTE or Southern ECA students want to go to their classes at those locations, they can come to Man High School to catch those buses at the regular departure time of 7:25 am.
We will be administering the PSAT tomorrow for all 9th–11th grade students.
🕗 Please ensure your student is present and arrives on time — this is an important testing day!
💻 Students should bring:
✔️ A fully charged Chromebook
✔️ Their charger
Thank you for your support in helping our students do their best!

Dear Parents & Guardians,
We’re asking for your support in making sure your student is in school every day — unless they are truly sick.
High school is a critical time. Every class missed puts students further behind — not just academically, but also in building the habits and skills they need for graduation, college, jobs, and life beyond.
🔹 Every absence adds up. Just a couple of missed days a month can mean falling behind in credits, struggling with grades, and missing key instruction that’s hard to make up.
🔹 Success starts with showing up. Students who attend regularly are more likely to stay on track to graduate and be ready for what comes next — whether that’s college, a career, or both.
🔹 We want them here. When students miss school, they miss connections, support, and the structure they need to succeed.
We understand that emergencies happen and that some absences are unavoidable. But if your student is healthy and able, please help us make school attendance a priority. Their future depends on it — and so does their present.
Thank you for partnering with us. 💙
